CCI
CCI is about emotions, they all add colour to our lives. Experiencing them fully is healthy. Emotions are res-ponses to what is going on with us. Our emotional centre continuously monitors events, processes them according to our personal history and experience, and produces a response - which we call an emotion.
This ongoing emotional chec-king is similar to how our body monitors its health, and to how our rational centre checks the logic of what we encounter. In these three ways, emotional, rational and in the body, we are constantly and automatically monitoring and checking our environ-ment - and, if necessary - what follows the checking is a correcting and adjusting pro-cess, a response that restores any imbalance. These on-going processes are our per-sonal life.
Life itself is a remarkable phenomenon, at work within us and within the whole world, a phenomenon which wants to go on living, growing and unfolding itself into its optimal potential. We hold this pro-cess to be positive and creative, and seek to co-operate with it in our own personal growth and in the way we interact in the world. Doing so is an art, a life process in itself, is CCI.
Part of that process of growth is emotional and rational de-cision making. Is making choi-ces for ourselves, for our life and growth. First of all, raising self-awareness of our emo-tional and rational processes - our past experiences and our present responses. And se-condly, as appropriate, ma-king new choices toward new ways of responding and inter-acting. Emotions, feelings, are based in personal assump-tions and all emotions have a purpose.
CCI is an environment for this process to begin and be maintained. The underlying pre-conditions are: respect (each of us is self-responsible and autonomous, in charge of our own lives and process); confidentiality (exploration of our personal lives and ex-pressed emotions stay confi-dential.)
CCI acknowledges three basic human needs:
1) to love and be loved
2) to understand and be
    understood
3) to be self directing while
also part of a bigger whole.

CCI co-counselling is:
a client directed, peer based method for personal development and emotional competence.

CCI co-counselling offers you:

  • a method for handling your emotions, changing your patterns, making choices
  • a powerful tool for personal development, stress management and peer support
  • effective ways to help you enjoy your life, become more self-directed  and actualising your full potential as a human being
  • a firm base for spiritual exploration and deepening, whatever your belief system is

CCI co-counselling works with:
CCI co-counselling techniques, used for discharge of emotions from the past, insight and revaluation,  or life action to create your own future.

CCI co-counselling is positive:
CCI co-counsellors are trained to be aware of their positive qualities and to celebrate them, to take positive steps in changing their life and to focus on their strength.

CCI co-counselling is a safe method:
  • the client is totally in charge of their own process
  • clients are trained to balance their attention between distress connected with past experience and being awarely present in the her-and-now, which enables full catharsis
  • CCI co-counsellors are trained to respect and support each other's process and to create emotional and physical safety in sessions

CCI co-counselling is reciprocal:
clients supports each other in using the CCI techniques, taking turns in paired equal time sessions or group time

CCI co-counselling is based on equality:
it is a peer based method, in a non-hierarchical setting, it is non-judgmental

CCI  is an integrative method:
CCI co-counselling works with a limited number of basic techniques, taught in a 40 hrs. basics course; integration of other techniques into the co-counselling format is an option for clients who are familiar with these other methods. Workshops of CCI co-counsellors  offer a wide range of methods, that clients use in combination with co-counselling or as an integral part of a co-counselling session: yoga, rebirthing, (circle) dancing, NLP, drawing therapy, birth re-enactment, neo-Reichian bodywork, (spirit) song, are examples.

CCI co-counselling is international:
The format and techniques of CCI co-counselling make it possible, that co-counsellors support each other in a session regardless of the language the client is speaking.
CCI co-counselling celebrates cultural differences in the way the method is used, and co-counsellors from different communities learn from each other by working together and exchanging  insights and ways of working.
