| 30 April 2010

Friday April 23rd some 26 participants of the 2010 CCI-USA meeting attend that afternoon their business meeting, facilitated by Fred Wallace and Judy Hartling and opened with a validating and celebrating opening circle.Chris explained and informed us about the latest initiatives of the Strategic Planning Committee of CCI-USA, especially also about how to inform the public.
Next was community sharing and Janice (Israel) reported about their 5 days first international meeting with about 40 participants from Dorr and CCI in 2009. Corrie (Netherlands) reported that it was for her an extraordinary positive meeting. Bob (USA) admitted that and said that he will 'strongly support those who intend to participate in it, when they want to organize such an event again'. He said he felt very much at home among them and their way of co-counselling. Allan (UK) called it a powerful event. In the update of the CCI Europe 2009 in Germany by Fred, special attention was paid to their childcare in this CCI happening and the celebration of 35 years of CCI co-counselling.
He read a letter of the Muenster Community and mentioned that, because of the Icelandic volcano explosion, several representatives from Europe were not able to attend this meeting.
the Muenster letter
'The Münster community, called CIM, has been quite busy with co-counselling during last year' says this letter. And continues with 'we succeeded in organizing the CCI Europe meeting 2009. There will be two new co-counselling teachers this year. We have two support groups running, meeting each fortnight, lasting for a whole year and if people want to stay for another year, they may. There is a regional weekend each year organized by different co-counsellors. Clemens and Hildegard gave fundamentals with 20 participants. They are coming from all over Germany, quite a lot MRT (Men's radical therapy) groups or RC, wishing to learn CCI co-counselling.
The only thing to regret is, that there is little motivation to visit international workshops, but hopefully this may change. Believe us, we wanted to come. It would be helpful if volcano's in Island will be quiet!
There is an annual business meeting-gathering to talk about organizational questions. Each year (the 3rd one now), we get money from the health insurances in context with being a self-help-group. Thus we are getting along quite well. Hugs and love from the 'old' world to the other 'old' world, be careful with it (especially the volcano's). Show your true colours, in mind we fly with you as peacocks .
writes Jeanette and Markus, with greetings from Siglind, Johannes and many people from CIM.
And in a later mail Markus announces that the CCI flag can't be send by mail. Siglind will take it and maybe the flag goes to Ireland in a few months.
logistics and CCI-USA 2011
The CCI-USA business meeting continues with logistics for next year meeting and work, the CCI-USA meeting 2011 (from 12-17 April) at Incarnation Centre in Ivoryton CT, and the planning of a 'trainers meeting' just before that gathering, related with that gathering, as they had a first try out just before this CCI meeting. Mentioned were as well the yearly CCI summer gathering in 2010 (16 to 18 July) in Michigan, USA; CCI Europe 2010 in Irelands, CCI Europe 2011 (possibly) in Hungary and CCI Europe 2012 in the Netherlands.
important question of Janice

Added to the agenda of this business meeting is a question of Janice (Israel). And her question came at the end of the scheduled agenda. The question was, like I understood it, 'íf anybody in this meeting objects to the Dror community calling themselves being a CCI community'. This question raised different commends in which it became very clear that within CCI there exist no guidelines how the international community can recognize a community that wants to join the CCI co-counselling network. Even in the federation guidelines, published in 1975, there was never a way to do this. The challenge of avoiding every authoritarian control within any organisation or in the philosophy of the CCI method anyway, is that each of us carry our own responsibility. After several contributions to the posted question, we decided that each of those who were at the meeting, at that time over 30 people, should have the possibility to share their vision. Personally, and speaking for myself, I stated that 'I will happily welcome any co-counsellor (and explicitly I say any co-counsellor and not a CCI raised co-counsellor because that is clear), who wants to admit and underline the absence of any authoritarian body within CCI or the wording of a definition of CCI, whether it is dated 1996 or 2009, to participate in CCI. So the question doesn't regard me that much, but regards those who want to be committed to speak for themselves and they are welcome'. At the end of this inspiring and profound sharing, Janice said that her question had been sufficiently answered.
