personal impressions: the start
CCI Europe 2010 in Ireland, for the fourth time at Termonfeckin, from Saturday 24 July to Friday 30 July, was for me, again very special. We arrived late, on Sunday afternoon in Dublin. We decided to attend the funeral of a dear friend on Saturday afternoon in a small village, situated along the dyke of one of the big rivers in the centre of the Netherlands. So we did not attend either a meeting of CCI teachers just before that meeting and neither the opening circle on Saturday evening at Termonfeckin. Amazing is, that the – for me – special atmosphere of that venue in Ireland,
manifested itself already at the Dutch take off airport. Visiting one of the bookstores, my attention was attracted by a book 'Meaningful Coincidence' written by Jan Cederquist, a Swedish copywriter with special interests in philosophy, psychology and spiritual matters. He died in 2009; the Swedish edition was first issued in 2005; the translation in English in 2010 by Marshall Cavendish Editions, ISBN 978-0-462-09970-5. We certainly will come back to that later.
It took some time to acclimatize while – for the first time – a CCI meeting had already started and getting used to its own rhythm I had to discover how it worked! The 'only' 61 participants managed, by the help of their facilitators, an opening circle starting at 9.30 PM, workshop announcements of that day only and discussions (one minute each) and other announcements within an hour. Sometimes we needed more time, so morning workshops started at 10.45 up to 11.00PM.
The business meeting was scheduled on Thursday afternoon and the first workshop I attended was on Monday morning, facilitated by Geoff about freedom (12 participants). My daily report about personal impressions tells me about that, that I did a lot of writing. And suddenly I saw 'freedom' as a process, that has its pre-conditions to run like every process. Than I realised that for me (now) death not can be seen as an end but far more as a transformation into 'something' else. And that in that 'something else' as it seems to me, that also there the phenomena of 'freedom' exists.
Monday afternoon I attended Corrie 's work shop 'feeling lonely' in 'the piano' room with a grand piano where Rob and I played together on Thursday, the evening of sharing our talents! After that day I was invited to join a support group, so we were than with four and later I attended a long international social exchange.
