personal impressions: Tuesday
The opening circle (09.30AM) was facilitated by Susan and Steve. I experienced the new NVC Grok play, introduced by Joke, in several modes, to experience the range of needs and feelings it offers. Those who resonate strongly inside to keep yourself, or because you think them appropriate for one of your partners in the game, to give away while communicating why you give it. That afternoon I participated in practicing 'thinking together' in the Bohmian Dialogue style. According to internets Wikipedia, this 'is a freely-flowing group conversation that makes an attempt, utilizing a theoretical understanding of the way thoughts relate
to universal reality, to more effectively investigate the crises that face society, and indeed the whole of human nature and consciousness'. In my perception – and experience – this is a kind of a process like processes as 'freedom', 'loving caring aware attention', 'co-counselling' = 'growing' like co-counselling, in consciousness etc. These processes are accompanied by pre conditions for running properly. An important one is - in my view – the phenomenon of respect. Though there is no hierarchy at all in it. What happens (for me) is 'observing a feeling' that the dialogue 'lifts itself up' onto 'another level'. For me Termonfecking is in this respect 'special' over the years. Besides, those experiences are not at all rational explainable.
In the evening I attended my first meeting in the daily CoCo reflection café as introduced by Àgota and Lillian. In this café – with tables for 4 persons with a sheet to write or draw on – the four 'dialogue' for several minutes about a given item. Then, by announcement of the facilitator, three of each table change from table and the fourth has to explain the result of the dialogue of the former four to the three newcomers. This is repeated several times. The outcome of this process was fascinating though time was too short in my view to report a result of it. Also – and again – respect and the lack of any hierarchy was obvious.
Richard and Dónal facilitate the opening circle and Kim (Germany) present the Hungarian banner to Dymphna, together with Declan the organizers of this CCI Europe meeting. Several participants visit that morning the historical stone age passage tomb at Newgrange in the Boyne Valley. The writers workshop of Joke is again inspiring for me by my connection between body, the Universe and the thought in answer on writing: a poem that connects 'outside, within and its connection'. We do write 5 minutes first to read loudly in the group, than in pairs with a session and finally about 'a perfect day' in the future. While realising that keeping writing – the movement – is important and that the hand you normally write with is the creator (keep moving) and the other hand is the editor to correct for whatever reason what just was created.
In the afternoon I attend again a Joke workshop, now about the so called Giraffe dance of Non Violent Communication. In this process (with its pre-conditions), we learn to take first internal several steps: the observation, the feeling, the need that caused that feeling and finally the request to be able to live in peace with the outcome. After this internal process follows the same range of steps to communicate in practice. Possibly worded in another way than you worded it internal.
Thursday impressions
Because of the acoustics we decide to change the opening circle from the big hall to the conference room were Hans (it is his birthday!) starts with a Dutch horse race, just to loosen the muscles. I too started to see 'love' as a (special) process with its special pre-conditions. What it means to me, how to handle it.
The business meeting that afternoon, facilitated by Fred and Sue, was inspiring. To be in time for our last support group meeting (at 5.00) we had to run after closing the enlarged business meeting! The meeting was attended by some 30 participants!
For the evening, as usual, was scheduled a fascinating talent show bu the participants, facilitated by Corrie and Lillian in a way only they can!
