The third day (Thursday, anchor person Dawne) we 'dismantled' parts of the main hall after our opening circle for the funeral/ceremony for Jim Chapple. It was also the day that we started with singing a Maori song, facilitated by Kathleen and Dawne. And it was the morning, that I was invited by Dawne to explain the session ingredients of the CCI sign language as they were presented at the walls in the hall . In that explanation I memorized the side advantage, that practitioners more easily refuse the proposed suggestion by signs, than by wording. Because they do not need to use their brains for translation! Workshops of that day were: 'Tantric women' a co-counsel/tantra workshop only for women. She adds: 'How present we are in our intimate relationships is a direct expression of how we are in the world, and what does equality actually mean? Exercise and discussion bring us to the center of our true expression/life force.

Fred offers 'an inquiry into the value of the 'companion/counselor/co-counselor'. He explains: 'To me the role is undervalued. In this inquiry there will be exercises focusing on the role of the counselor/companion. My central thesis is that it is in the role of companion/counselor that we see ourselves as 'human'. And that same morning Cameron facilitated a co-created inquiry into 'authentic sexuality at this time (only for men). In the afternoon a trip was organized to the Terraces and Joke, Gavan and Dawne facilitated a workshop about 'loving and dying', inviting participants to bring an object or symbol connected with this theme. In the evening we were invited by Gael to explore our boundaries.

the fourth day

3 kingsDay 4 (anchor person Gavan) started – as all days – with a light meditation for about 20 minutes by Jason as an early morning workshop. He explains: 'This process uses a candle flame to aid the process of visualizing light. Light is visualized in different parts of the body, purifying the body as it illuminates it. The light is then visualized being sent (gifted) to family and friends, the community, the nation and the whole world. The process is brought to a close by returning to visualizing the light inside one ' own being again'.

This fourths day, January the 6th , the opening circle (by Jenni, Gavan and Jason) was dedicated on the (Spanish) ritual of the 'Three Kings coming to Bethlehem with their gifts'. Together with Jason they entered as Kings the big hall and in addition, Jenni offered a workshop called 'day of the kings, in which she announced 'letting go of the 'old', celebrating the 'gift' and welcoming the 'new'. After the 3 kings celebration Corrie, Joke and Niek invited the participants to sing with them (written on the flour) in Dutch 'can you tell me the way to Bakkeveen ? where CCI Europe 2012 is situated.bakkeveen

The workshops offers of that day were: 'balancing the masculine and feminine within' by Scarlet and Cameron. They explain: 'Within us we all have masculine and feminine aspects. In today's society we are often compelled into playing out specific gender roles that we do not really wish to embody so resulting in unhealthy and destructive behavior. In this workshop we will tease out and discuss the healthy masculine and feminine and the unhealthy. Then trough a series of exercises, we will discover what is within ourselves so enabling choices.' Chris offers a workshop about 'letters to myself', mirrors and reflections. She explains: 'we will explore how traits in others, that bother or attract us, may mirror our own traits. There will be writing and sharing circles and sessions'.

That same morning Richard offered a workshop as an inquiry into 'what makes for effective parenting and teaching. Mini sessions, reflecting and personal 'failures and successes', with a note that Maria Montessori spoke of the 'spiritual preparedness' of the teacher.

In the afternoon Jocelyn offered an exploration on an effective and empowering way to make decisions where everyone's voice is heard. She continues 'I am a beginner in sociocracy, but believe that the process could serve the coco community and save us time and frustration! So come along if you want to explore an experiment with me and found our way together.the way

Bobby and James offered a non coco workshop called 'reprogramming the body/ musculo-skeletal system' as an introduction to using very light and precise touch to change physical and emotional tensions: 'how to see and understand the relation between muscles. It is usual to undress to underwear to receive this work. The therapy can be a non verbal route to catharsis and change. Equal time giving and receiving' they say.

That evening Jena organized 'a Moonlight Labyrinth walk' and Diana a ' 5 rhythms' style Dance workshop with some light facilitation, but it is mainly for you to move as you feel moved to do. In the mean time there was (a second) offer for woods and water in the evening and serious talks about organizing a CCI 'talent show' evening (Corrie and Jack),

Day 5

Anchor persons for the day are Virginia and Fred. Kathleen offered in her workshop 'Insight Dialogue', an insight in meditation: 'The dialogue occurs within the meditation; there are guidelines for the dialogue'. 'What is really happening in the world' was a workshop offer of Cameron, also for that morning. This is explained as ' an inquiry for people who are concerned about what is really going on in the world. The food bill; the free trade agreement. Both taking away our human rites. The banking and financial systems; corporate and political systems. We need to be aware before we can have change. The people getting their power back' states Cameron about his workshop.

Kathleen offered that evening a spirit song workshop. Sound, move your spirit. No singing ability required; this is not about singing. And there was also an offer to visit the Taupo 'riverside market'. In the afternoon there was, besides the business meeting of CCI Aotearoa (from 3.30 – 4.15 PM) a workshop about 'creating safety in CCI contract' by Anne, Scarlet and Cameron. The results of that workshop – in the first round 25 items, in a second round 10 items – were afterward published on the wall of the entrance hall. Joke, Fred and Chris offered a co-creating workshop.

Day 6

Anchor person for 'the day of the CCI talent show' was Anne. The morning workshops were about '21 questions' (Regan, Scarlet Anne) as a re-work of the day 2 workshop on change. As 'a process which is useful for past, present or future change that calls for your whole-heartedly embracing'. Suzen offered a 'learn to come home' workshop with 'presence, being in the moment, sessions, guided meditation, open and closing circle, sharing'. In the afternoon Bobby and James offered part 2 of their 'reprogramming the body' workshop of last Friday.

Scarlet offered a workshop': 'let's talk about sex', 'an open forum discussion on the topic of sexuality. The exact subject matter will depend on what the group wishes to speak on. And Joke offered a 'Wild mind' workshop of creative writing and co-counseling.' She writes: ' Over the years I have offered creative writing workshops at CCI, based on the work of Nathalie Goldberg. Her method takes me to the true source of creative power. I am struck by how the process ties in with the co-counseling process and techniques. Wild mind is one of Nathalie Goldberg's books about writing practice, and source of inspiration for this workshop. I will introduce her 'rules of writing practice', we will practice some basic co-counseling techniques alternating with writing exercises and sharing'. Niek offered a 'core conversation about the phenomenon CCI .

The time now available because there was no need for next day's workshops programming, was used for community sharing attended by some 20 people. The evening was reserved for about the same number of contributions to the CCI talent show. This show of talents is a 'CCI specialty' because the audience – and the performers – know, that they are entitled to try out also what's very scary in their minds, within the free attention of all those who are attending. It was a great evening without competition.

Next day (Monday, January 9th ) after opening circle as usual at 8.45, was largely devoted to packing, farewells, closing (by Barbara, Dawne, Scarlet, Gavan, Joke, Regan and Fred) and departure (2PM). In the opening circle we were informed that during our last night at Tauhara Retreat Center, a member of the CCI community of New Zealand, Dave, passed away. In the closing circle our thoughts were with him, his music and his family.
