the preparation

1. if YOU decide that you like a group sharing about a certain topic, organize it your self. And do it your way. What is given below is just an example;

a. first thing to do is: write in about max 500 to 600 words, a concept introduction on your topic. Give it a specific name (max 5 words). What are your thoughts, feelings, history about this topic. What do you want to check or share with others? ;

b. write an excerpt of about 100 to 150 words of this text, to clarify why you think the sharing to be useful for you;

c. send the name of the topic and this clarifying text by email to the editor @).

2. Make a list of persons you like to participate in the sharing, and their email addresses

the participants

Be aware that the number of participants of a sharing technically is limited to, inclusive yourself, max 10 persons. Preferable seems to be about 5 persons. Those who are attracted by your topic as it is announced on the website, may contact you directly by email for participation.

3. write and send a personal invitation email to those you like personally to participate in this sharing; at least one of them needs to be a CCI trainer listed on the CCI trainers list of this website. This invitation letter needs to contain:

a. that needed is a webcam, a high speed broadband connection and Skype 5.0 or higher.

b. that the sharing in English will contain an opening (circle) = each a good and new (2 words), followed by a sharing of opinions/experiences etc. , ending with a closing (circle) The discussion will not be taped; the names and countries of the participants will be published.

c. that an introduction of the topic will be published in CCI World News Service as soon as the date of the sharing is available.

d. that the different time zones order, that the sharing possibilities (of max 2 hours) are limited to the weekends only.

e. ask them to mail you as soon as possible, which weekend days (data and timeslot ) they might be able to attend a skype sharing, so you can try to organise that.

f. ask them to inform you also where they are located or what is the name of the next nearby world city to locate in what time zone they live in.

g. it is preferable to invite them to respond within for instance 24 hours, so you can continue to organise a proposal.

time levelling

4. Our world is divided in time zones. By summer time Amsterdam 12 AM = San Francisco 04 AM = London (UK) 11 AM = Auckland 22 PM = Boston (USA) 06 AM = Melbourne 20 PM = Moscow 14 PM click worldclock.To level the time, you need to know where possible participants of your Skype sharing are based. People living in different countries may live in the same time zone and in other cases the difference may be significant. To level this use the meeting planner of internet:. Here you can fill in four different locations and ask to show the time table, after indicating the month and the date (of the Saturday/Sunday). On your screen you can now see – in green colour – what possibilities there are to make a Skype connection on a reasonable time for all. Still the possibilities are limited, so invite possible participants to be generous!

5. Invite those who may be partners in the sharing to give you permission to add each of them to your Skype contacts.

6. Send an email with your proposal for date and time for the sharing. This email needs to content anyway information:

a. that you send this mail to all of them collectively, so they are all in the same way informed; invite them to do the same by answering;

b. your proposal for the date, the (local) time of each of the participants, for the duration of max 2 hours sharing (or different if you all can agree to that);

c. to answer (all) as soon as possible, within 24 hours, if this is OK for them;

d. that you will send them anyway a last email with 'instructions' to confirm the sharing.

e. that you, when all agree, will send an email to the editor to confirm the date of sharing your item and attach the final version of your introduction text of the topic to be published as soon as possible in CCI World News Service.

7.suggest in your last email before the sharing:

a. do you have the text of the introduction item available on paper?

b. did you give me permission to skype you?

c. I will time the rounds and give each 5 minutes to start, with opening circle (name, country, introduction of your self, good and new);

d. do you have pen and paper available for notes if you wish?

e. activate Skype in time;

f. I will start with connecting a few minutes before ........ AM/PM and that is for ...... (name) .... (time) AM or PM. (etc.)

the sharing

8. activate Skype some hours before the scheduled time of sharing

a. click contacts and click create a new group

b. add the participants of the sharing to the new group

c. create an account if you do not have it alreday and buy a day pass for a group video conference.

9. start connecting the participants of the sharing a few minutes before the scheduled time.

10. facilitate the meeting and remind, that you will write your personal impressions of this sharing. Ask if the participants want to read it before publishing on a public website. If so, invite them to react as soon as possible.

the follow up
